The article provides an in-depth study of contemporary environmental challenges and their multidimensional impact on life safety, occupational health, and the economy in Ukraine. It considers climate change, air, water, and soil pollution, degradation of natural resources, accumulation of waste, and technological hazards as critical threats that directly affect human health and working conditions. The research emphasizes the increasing frequency of natural and man-made disasters, including floods, fires, chemical accidents, and industrial emergencies, which intensify risks to both people and businesses. Statistical evidence demonstrates a high incidence of respiratory and infectious diseases caused by environmental degradation, as well as significant financial losses associated with infrastructure damage, reduced agricultural productivity, and ecological recovery measures. The study highlights the approaches of Ukrainian and international scholars in addressing ecological risks, including the integration of environmental standards into production, systemic risk assessment, and the promotion of environmental education. Practical recommendations are formulated for policymakers, enterprises, and civil protection systems, such as legislative harmonization with European norms, development of monitoring and forecasting mechanisms, promotion of ecological culture, investment in renewable energy and green technologies, and strengthening of international cooperation. The article concludes that comprehensive implementation of these measures will contribute to reducing ecological risks, ensuring safer working environments, fostering sustainable economic development, and supporting the transition toward a green economy. Such a strategic approach is crucial for safeguarding natural resources, increasing competitiveness of enterprises, and improving the quality of life for current and future generations.
