ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINANTS OF ECONOMIC SECURITY OF ECONOMIC ACTIVITY OF AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES

Abstract

The article substantiates that the environmental component is a system-forming element of economic security, since agricultural production directly depends on the state of natural resources and ecological balance, and violations of environmental norms and depletion of natural potential are transformed into economic risks, manifested in increased costs, reduced yields, penalties, and loss of sales markets. The key environmental determinants of the economic security of agricultural enterprises include: the condition of land resources, the level of anthropogenic load on the environment, the effectiveness of environmental protection measures, compliance with environmental standards, and the level of adaptation to climate change. It has been established that the main environmental determinants of the economic security of agricultural enterprises form a systemic impact on the results of economic activity and determine the level of their sustainability in the face of growing natural, climatic, and regulatory challenges. Environmental determinants, as a component of the economic security system of agricultural enterprises, have both a deterrent and a stimulating nature, and their comprehensive consideration in management decisions allows minimizing economic risks, stabilizing financial results and creating prerequisites for the sustainable development of agricultural production. It is substantiated that the integration of the environmental component into the economic security strategy is a key condition for increasing the long-term viability of agricultural enterprises in the face of increasing environmental and climatic challenges. The relationship between environmental risks and threats to the economic security of agricultural enterprises is revealed, which has a systemic and causal nature. It is revealed that environmental risks act as catalysts for economic threats and form a chain effect of negative impact on the economic security of agricultural enterprises. Therefore, their timely identification and assessment with the subsequent integration of risk management into the economic security management system will reduce income losses, ensure financial stability and increase the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises.
