MANAGEMENT BASES OF RESOURCE CONSERVATION AT MODERN ENGINEERING ENTERPRISES

Abstract

The article examines the management principles of resource conservation at the enterprises of the machine-building industry of Ukraine. The relevance of the topic is determined by the current economic conditions in which Ukrainian machine-building enterprises can ensure and maintain their competitiveness in both domestic and foreign markets only through the efficient and rational use of material, energy, financial, and labor resources. In addition, the issue of resource conservation becomes particularly acute under conditions of limited access to imported components, disruptions in supply chains, rising energy costs, and the overall need to optimize production and logistics processes in an environment of heightened uncertainty. The article identifies and systematizes the key problems of resource conservation management and determines the organizational and economic essence of this process at modern machine-building enterprises. It analyzes the internal and external factors influencing the effectiveness of resource-saving activities, including technological, financial, informational, personnel, and managerial components. The stages of forming a resource conservation management mechanism are described, with an emphasis on ensuring coordination between structural units and integrating resource-saving objectives into the overall development strategy of the enterprise. Special attention is paid to the organizational management system that ensures the development and adoption of sound managerial decisions regarding the implementation of resource conservation projects. In this context, a methodology for ranking investment projects in the field of resource conservation is proposed, aimed at optimizing managerial decision-making and selecting the most effective alternatives under conditions of limited resources. The research employs analytical, comparative, descriptive, graphical, and tabular methods, as well as a method for comparing the results of investment project evaluations to substantiate the proposed approach. The theoretical foundation of the study is based on the scientific works of leading Ukrainian and foreign researchers devoted to the development and implementation of resource-saving strategies at industrial enterprises. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the systematization and further development of theoretical and applied approaches to the formation of resource-saving policies and the improvement of managerial decision-making mechanisms at modern enterprises of the machine-building industry of Ukraine, taking into account contemporary economic challenges and constraints.
