SPATIAL STRUCTURE OF TOURIST INFRASTRUCTURE IN UKRAINE

The article examines the spatial differentiation of tourism infrastructure development across the regions of Ukraine under conditions of structural transformation, wartime challenges, and limited statistical availability. The relevance of the study is determined by persistent regional asymmetries in transport accessibility, service quality, investment activity, digitalization, and institutional capacity, which have intensified since 2022 due to military-security risks, infrastructure destruction, and internal population displacement. The purpose of the study is to conduct an integral assessment of tourism infrastructure development in Ukrainian regions and to identify key spatial disparities using a composite measurement approach combined with interval grouping and regional typology. The methodological framework is based on the construction of an integral index that aggregates normalized indicators within three interrelated blocks: material-resource, socio-ecological-economic, and innovation-inclusive. All indicators were normalized using the min–max procedure with a clear distinction between stimulators and destimulators. The integral index is interpreted as a relative measure of regional tourism infrastructure capacity suitable for interregional comparison rather than absolute normative evaluation. Equal weighting of blocks was applied to minimize subjectivity, and the robustness of results was verified through sensitivity analysis with alternative weighting scenarios. The results reveal pronounced spatial disparities and allow the identification of core, semi-peripheral, and peripheral regions within the national tourism space. The scientific novelty lies in integrating military-security and innovation-inclusive parameters into a composite model of spatial differentiation under conditions of statistical limitations. The practical significance of the study consists in providing an analytical basis for differentiated strategic regional tourism policy aimed at infrastructure modernization, digital transformation, inclusive development, environmental sustainability, and security-oriented recovery of tourism activities in Ukraine.
