Abstract

Sustainable practices are increasingly becoming a key requirement for resorts worldwide. The global tourism industry is undergoing a paradigm shift, where attention to sustainable development is increasing. This trend is caused by the increase in the number of tourists around the world, changing ideas about the future role of accommodation facilities, growing demand for a healthy lifestyle and sustainable business practices. The implementation of ecological practices not only reduces the negative impact on the environment, but also creates economic advantages for sanatorium-resort and hotel-restaurant establishments. Therefore, understanding the current trends and prospects for the development of tourism and hospitality in the context of sustainable development is important for resort establishments that seek to remain competitive. Purpose: overview of current trends and prospects in the health tourism and hospitality market in the context of sustainable development. Materials and methods. The material for publication are the works of domestic and foreign authors devoted to sanatorium-resort establishments. In the research process, scientific methods were used: theoretical generalization and analysis, logical generalization of results (formulation of conclusions). Results. Today, modern accommodations are investing in green, smart, and health-related practices. The Global Wellness Institute estimates that the global wellness tourism market will reach $1 trillion by the end of 2024 and continue to grow. The development of the network of sanatoriums and resorts is connected with the development of medical, health and wellness tourism. Sustainable practices become the basis of the formation of the range of services in health care establishments. The connection between health and sustainability is illustrated by the example of improving food services by diversifying the menu with unique dietary offers, increasing the range of vegan dishes that are good for health and better for the planet. The desire to combine the concepts of sustainability and wellness in modern resort centers creates conditions for the formation of a new concept - regenerative hospitality. So, the modern sector of the health resort industry is characterized by progress in reducing the global impact on the environment. Regenerative hospitality has the potential to be a solution for hoteliers working to make the world a better place through their business activities. In further scientific research, it is proposed to focus attention on the study of regenerative hospitality practices of health care establishments.
